In the banking sector, Bank of Bermuda dropped 1 with a trade of 4,600 shares, closing at $23.25. The Bank of Butterfield on a trade of 1,000, closed unchanged at $34.50.

The only other trade was 5,000 shares in the Bermuda Telephone Company Ltd., dropping the share price by 1 to 347 .

The index closed lower by 2.97 at 1,208.39.
