More than 25,000 Bank of Bermuda shares traded as the price rose $0.375, along with nearly 38,000 Bank of Butterfield shares that moved its price up $0.625.

And nearly 12,000 Bermuda Commercial Bank units of stock changed hands as the price rose $0.125.

One of the most significant gains was Bermuda Container Line, which rose 6.25 percent or 25 cents to close at $4 on trading of 900 shares.
