for the Bermuda Airport contract, has been fired.

Mr. Craig Proulx, who was director of business development for JIL Systems Inc. near Washington, DC, "no longer works with this company,'' a JIL spokesman said yesterday.

Nobody at JIL was available to say what happened to Mr. Proulx. But a source told The Royal Gazette he was fired.

JIL was one of several companies which declined Government's invitation to bid on the Airport contract, expected to be worth between $25 million and $50 million over five years.

In an interview in early October, Mr. Proulx was sharply critical of procurement officials working for the Bermuda Government and the wording of the specifications for the Airport contract.

He predicted the company that won the contract would "suck the Bermuda Government dry'' for the next 10 years.

Both Bermuda Government and JIL officials expressed astonishment at Mr.

Proulx's remarks.
