Power went out at the city service station just before 2 p.m. due to problems in a nearby sub-station. A Belco spokeswoman said the power outage was caused by a fault in the connection between a high-cable and switchgear.

The power cut -- which also affected Century House in Par-la-Ville Road and a disused building opposite the gas station -- ended when Belco engineers repaired the fault around 4.30 p.m.
