May 29, National Trust director Amanda Outerbridge announced yesterday.

"The historic visit by Ambassador Sonn, a supporter of President Nelson Mandela's African National Congress, will include a trip out to Long Island where a ceremony will be conducted at the Bermuda National Trust's Boer War Cemetery,'' said Ms Outerbridge.

"The Ambassador will lay a wreath at the site of the cemetery in respect of the memory of the Boer War prisoners buried there on May 30 at 10.30 a.m.'' The Trust invited Ambassador Sonn to Bermuda after he expressed interest in the Trust's work at the cemetery. He will make an official call at Government House and attend a reception at the Trust's headquarters, Waterville.
