Security tight for Farrakhan
Created: Feb 16, 1998 10:00 AM
Minister Louis Farrakhan will arrive on the Island around 3 p.m. on Wednesday for a 24-hour visit to Bermuda.
According to organisers, the public may get a chance to glimpse Minister Farrakhan -- depending on security arrangements -- from outside the perimeter near the Bermuda Aviation Services facility. Minister Farrakhan will be speaking later that evening at the Somerset Cricket Club. Tickets for the 7 p.m. event will be available at the door which will open at 5 p.m. Organisers reminded the public that there will be a screening process -- involving metal detectors -- upon entering the Club. And no cameras, recording devices, food or water coolers will be permitted inside the cricket club.
