Ship with injured sailor diverts to Bermuda

The captain of the 12,283 ton Marsas called Harbour Radio at 4 p.m. yesterday to say the seaman had fallen eight feet down a hatch and was unable to move his left leg.
Following discussions with the US Coastguard, it was decided that the Lithuanian-registered fish carrier, which was 190 miles south south-west of the Island at the time of the accident, should divert to Bermuda.
The ship was expected to arrive at the Island around 5 a.m. today.
Meanwhile, a local vessel, My Wish , was helped back to St. David's last night by another Bermudian boat, the Viking Star , after developing engine trouble.
The boat's engines failed around 7 p.m. a mile east of Mill's Buoy, but she was able to return to St. David's after receiving assistance from the Viking Star HEALTH HTH
