Stocks plunge

The Index closed at 1071, down 1.3 percent on the previous Friday, on volume of 44,562 shares worth $777,531.
Bank of Bermuda dropped 62.5 cents to close at $19.50 on volume of 15,368 while Telco lost 50 cents to close at $37 on volume of 7,890.
Belco dropped 25 cents to close at $19.75 on volume of 500.
BF&M gained 12.5 cents closing at $6.875 on volume of 2,124, while Bermuda Home gained 37.5 cents to close at $7 on volume of 902 and Bank of Bermuda warrants gained 25 cents to close at $3.75 on volume of 1,173.
Issues closing unchanged were; Argus, $10.50, 3,415, Bermuda Press Holdings, $8, 7,992, Hemisphere preferred, $6, 3,600, and Bank of Butterfield, $12, 1,598.
The BSE dropped 14.15 points or 1.30 percent closing at 1,071.00.
