The Index closed at 1,430.15 on volume of 54,543 shares valued at $1,167,234.25. No bonds traded. Three stocks advanced in price, and two declined.

Belco Holdings Ltd. gained during the week, advancing $1 or five percent to close at $20 on volume of 2,052 shares.

Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd. which owns The Royal Gazette , rose 15 cents or 1.8 percent to close at $8.15 on volume of 6,000.

And the Bank of Bermuda gained 50 cents or 1.7 percent to close at $29 as 30,441 shares changed hands -- the highest volume of the week.

Insurer BF&M saw its shares drop 50 cents or 7.4 percent to close at $6.75 on volume of 5,900. Bank of Butterfield fell 75 cents or 7.94 percent for the week to close at its low for the year of $15.25 on volume of 9,550 shares.
