Aon powers in on Lloyd's energy insurance broker
insurance broker Jenner Fenton Slade Group Ltd.
Aon owns Bermuda-based captive insurance manager Aon Risk Services and insurance brokers Rollins Hudig Hall.
Aon said it intends to make an agreed offer to acquire the whole of the issued and outstanding share capital of JFS.
"In my judgment, JFS is the premier energy petrochemical brokerage firm at Lloyd's. This acquisition is strategically very important for Aon,'' said Mr.
Patrick Ryan, chairman and CEO of Aon.
JFS specialises in placing coverage for companies in international energy and petrochemical industries.
The directors of JFS intend to recommend acceptance of Aon's offer, subject to negotiated final terms.
The parties expect the acquisition to be completed later this month. In the transaction, JFS shareholders will exchange their stock in JFS for shares of common stock in Aon.
Aon reported on Monday that it had third quarter net income of $86.7 million -- up 11.4 percent from a net income of $77.8 million for the same period a year earlier.
Aon has assets in excess of $17 billion. Its shares are listed on the New York, Chicago and London stock exchanges.
