RENAISSANCERE NAMES NEW OFFICER APP RenaissanceRe names new officer Renaissance Reinsurance Holdings Ltd. yesterday named W. Preston Hutchings as its new chief investment officer.

He will assume responsibility for the firm's $1 billion investment portfolio -- half of which is managed by outside advisors.

Mr. Hutchings has served RenaissanceRe in a consulting capacity since last year, when the merger of Mid-Ocean Re and XL Capital eliminated his position as chief investment officer of Mid-Ocean.
