The Government House statement also said the Hon. Mr. Justice Telford Georges was retiring from the court at the end of the year and would be replaced by the Hon. Sir Derek Cons, a former vice president of the Hong Kong Court of Appeal.

The appointments of the Hon. Sir Alan Huggins and the Hon. Mr. Justice Harvey DaCosta, which expire at the end of the year, have been extended for a further 12 months.

The fifth member of the Court is the Hon. Mr. Justice Kempster.
