Bank stock matches record high
highs last week.
By week end, the bank stock had surged $2, or five percent in value, to close at $40, a record price previously reached on February 5 this year. The BSX reached a record high on that same date of 1709.3.
The BSX closed the week at the new record of 1,733.59, a gain of 45.16 points on the week on a volume of 23,694 shares valued at $466,090.
The bank's warrants gained $1.50, or 10.17 percent, to close at $16.25.
Also propelling the BSX Index was Bermuda Commercial Bank, up 13 cents to close at $5.63 on volume of 1,500 shares.
Property holding company Solar Enterprises Ltd. fell $1 or 40 percent in value to $1.50. The company's shares last traded on February 5.
Staples Holdings preferred shares traded up 13 cents at $8.25 on volume of 2,000 shares.
Stocks trading unchanged included: Bank of Butterfield, $18.50, 10,901 shares; Bermuda Home, $10, 1,288; and Bermuda Electric Light Company, $24, 1,382 shares.
