Raleigh-Durham, will not begin operating a non-stop flight from Bermuda to Miami, Tourism Minister the Hon. C.V. (Jim) Woolridge disclosed yesterday.

Mr. Woolridge, who earlier this week explained that any link to south Florida would depend on whether or not the airline had an available aircraft, said the airline was unable to find the right aircraft -- a 757 -- for the route.

However, he said Bermuda had been placed on American Airlines' selected list.

Mr. Woolridge also announced that USAir will be starting up a new flight from Chicago via Charlotte to Bermuda.

"This now gives us two flights a day out of Chicago,'' he noted, referring to Newark-based Kiwi International Airlines plan to provide a direct link to Bermuda from Chicago.
