A major US air carrier is offering Bermudian travellers low-price air fares.

American Airlines are offering tickets valid for travel between January 13 and April 30 to a number of destinations in North America, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Return mid-week fares start as low as $187 for travel to Boston, Philadelphia and Baltimore and peak at $845 for travel to Honolulu.

Other fares include: $194 to New York; $415 to San Juan; $359 to Miami; $499 to Los Angeles; $375 to New Orleans; $396 to Dallas and Chicago; $402 to Orlando; $332 to Nashville; $341 to Cleveland; $438 to San Antonio; and $298 to Hartford.

Fares for travel between Friday and Monday to these destinations are between $36 and $42 more in most cases.

Tickets have to be purchased by January 22 and carry minimum and maximum stay restrictions of three and 30 days respectively. Ticketing is seven days prior to departure or three days after the reservation is made -- whichever comes first.

Senior citizen discounts do not apply while a 25 percent discount applies to children between age two and 11.

Stopovers are not allowed and travel is restricted from Bermuda between February 21 and 23 and April 18 to 19. Travel is restricted to Bermuda between February 14 and 16 and April 10 and 12.

American is also offering Bermudians discount fares from New York to London and Paris.

Round trip fares from New York to London and Paris are $198 and $298 respectively for travel between Monday and Thursday and $258 and $338 for travel between Friday and Sunday.

These tickets have to be purchased by January 22 also and similar restrictions pertaining to discounts for seniors and children. Ticketing is either three days prior to departure or three days after the reservation is made -- whichever comes first.
