of Forte Hotels in Bermuda.

He will manage the Belmont Hotel and the Harmony Club Hotel, effective on November 1, 1993.

Mr. Griffith, 35, started with Trusthouse Forte Hotels, as it was then known in 1979 as a Management Trainee at the five-star Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados.

He spent nine years there as food and beverage manager, administration manager and director of sales and marketing.

Mr. Griffith was appointed general manager of the Harmony Club in November, 1988.

In May, 1992 he was also appointed Forte's regional director of sales and marketing.

This position included the two Bermuda properties as well as the 400-bedroom Nassau Beach Hotel on Cable Beach in the Bahamas.

Mr. Griffith has participated in several management training programmes over the years.

He has attended courses at Lambert College in Oxford, England; the Forte Academy in London, and Cornell University.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in hotel management from the University of the West Indies.

*** Mr. Anthony Manders , currently assistant accountant for Solen Insurance Ltd., will, on November 1, 1993, assume accounting responsibility for the retirement benefit funds of Shell Trust (Bermuda) Ltd.

Mr. Manders' position with Solen Insurance will be filled by Mr. George Morton who, until recently, was a trainee underwriter with LP Gutteridge.

Solen Insurance and Shell Trust (Bermuda) are Bermuda incorporated subsidiary companies of the Royal Dutch/Shell group and operate from Shell House, St.

George's.

*** Mr. Scott Taylor has been appointed Open Systems Software Manager of MCS Ltd.

which has expanded its Open Systems division after acquiring the local distribution rights to Informix Software, Inc.'s product line.

Mr. Taylor will be responsible for providing customers with computer software solutions to satisfy current business needs.

Prior to joining MCS, Mr. Taylor most recently was employed as an Account Manager for an open systems network integrator in Canada.

He has worked in Canada and Australia for Informix Software, Inc., which is a leading worldwide supplier of 4GL and Relational Database Technology.

*** Former Bermuda resident Ms Pam Swain has recently been appointed executive secretary of the Association of British Dental Surgery Assistants, which is based in her home town of Fleetwood, Lancashire, England.

Ms Swain worked at the Bank of Bermuda's head office in Hamilton and left the Island in 1990.
