The West Virginian married the former Patti Rego, who owns By Design, in 1987.

The couple have two children.

*** Sedgwick James has recognised a number of its employees for their achievements and contributions to the captive management and brokerage company.

Mrs. Sharry Hall , the Supervisor of the Administration Department, received a gold pin in recognition of five years' service with the firm.

Several employees received awards for suggestions made under the company's Quality Improvement and Suggestion Programme, which was introduced last year.

Ms Gwen Simmons won an award for the "Suggestion of the Year'', while other awards went to Ms Gail D'Alessio , Ms Carola Farrell , Mrs. Sharry Hall and Ms Lisa Ferrari .

Miss Karen Balcombe was recognised for her success in the recent Bermuda Insurance Diploma examinations.
