yesterday opened its new Business Systems Center in Reston, Virginia.

The new facility will address customer service problems, assign phone numbers, combat fraud and handle billing, the company said.

Bermuda-registered Iridium, which is 25 percent owned by Motorola Inc., is developing a global wireless communications network using 66 low-earth-orbit satellites. Service is scheduled to begin in September.
