The Andra is currently moored at Dockyard whilst engineers try to solve the engine problems that left the ship and its cargo of several thousand tonnes of frozen chicken stranded in the Atlantic, 200 miles from the Island.

Donald MacPherson, of agents John S. Darrell, said the workmen, flown in from Latvia, were progressing and had restored some power to the vessel. He added that it would not be moving for several days.

Another vessel, the Frio Vladivostok -- which completed a dangerous at sea operation to assist the stricken ship -- is still alongside providing power to the Andra .

The cargo of chicken parts is reported to be in good condition and the second ship -- also owned by the Riga Transport Fleet in Latvia -- is expected to remain alongside until the repair work is complete.

Both ships sailed into Bermuda last week, after the Frio Vladivostok came to the Andra's rescue, tying up alongside and giving power to the broken down ship.
