Competition for annual reports
promoting an annual reports competition which they hope will attract entries from public corporations and organisations in Bermuda.
ICSA will be presenting an inscribed trophy to the winner at the ICSA annual branch dinner at the end of October. The closing date for entries is September 15.
Judges will review the entries submitted and award points on a scale of one to ten in each of four categories: Comprehension (layout, logic, relevance, explanatory notes, brevity and clarity); Conformity (GAAP accounting standards and legal requirements); Professionalism (errors/omissions and attention to detail); and, Public Relations/Marketing (president's report, innovation/creativity of presentation and communication to shareholders/public).
The panel of judges includes five experienced business professionals who have had extensive experience in the preparation, audit and appraisal of annual reports during their respective careers.
They are Mr. William D. Thomson, retired executive vice president of the Bank of Bermuda Ltd.; Mr. Michael Kirkwood, retired partner, Ernst & Young; Mr.
David Boden CA, partner, Anfossi & Butterfield; Mr. Jamsheed Khan CFA, chartered secretary, ex-Bermuda Monetary Authority and Bermuda College; and, Mr. James S. Jardine CA, chartered secretary and general manager of Appleby, Spurling & Kempe.
