Dockyard celebration

already underway to celebrate the occasion and all the positive changes which have transformed the Dockyard.

No longer is the formerly "derelict naval base,'' a vast wasteland of old buildings. It has been rehabilitated into what many are calling a first rate entertainment complex.

Wedco is planning an international food fair and cultural festival on May 29, a pop concert on June 5, and a special Beating of the Retreat ceremony by the Bermuda Regiment and Pipe bands on June 15.

These are some of the events planned to showcase the facility and the work that has gone on there so far.

THIEVES BREAK INTO HOMES CRM Thieves made off with money and goods this week after breaking into three homes.

A resident of Sunnyside Park, Southampton reported that thieves broke into his home during the day on Monday and stole a computer system, camera, watch and several items of jewellry.

A visitor to the Island who was staying in a cottage on White Sands Road in Paget said that while she was sleeping on Sunday, someone broke-in and stole local and US money from her wallet.

Police also reported that a thief broke into the Middle Road, Paget residence of a man and stole money from his wallet.

All three thefts are under investigation.

TRIAL DATE FOR BRYANT RICHARDS CTS The head of Addiction Services, Bryant Richards, will stand trial on September 21 for being the keeper of two dogs who attacked and killed four rabbits.

According to Police, the rabbits were killed on March 15, 1993 by two of Richards' dogs, a rottweiler and a black and white cross-breed. He was formally charged late last year.
