An exchange synopsis is now available on the news service, and includes 20 members of the index, as well as Bermuda Home which is not a component of the index but is heavily capitalised and frequently traded.

"The additional information will bring information about the BSE closer to more people. The more information that reaches people about the exchange through the Bloomberg, the more interest that will be generated,'' said Mr.

Greg Wojciechowski, BSE project manager.

The new daily trading synopsis written for the first time yesterday, provides subscribers of the service with listings' closing prices plus the percentage change from the closing price the day before.

The day's stock page, which has been on the service for several months, will continue to be provided and gives subscribers closing prices plus the dollar change and the volume traded.

"Initially, being on the Bloomberg with the newer format will create more awareness which could lead to more companies listing on the exchange,'' said Mr. Wojciechowski. "This could prompt investment in those companies through the exchange.

"This is a great way to raise the profile of the exchange through the dissemination of information and part of our development efforts,'' he added.
