Former pro musician to open new sound shop
store in Hamilton specialising in high tech audio and lighting equipment.
Great Sound, on the site of the former Toyota showroom at the east end of Church Street, will cater for both businesses and individuals.
Fog machines, sound-linked lighting and special effects equipment will be among the more unusual items on offer when the 2,000-square-foot store opens for business next Wednesday.
"We have always been in the installation market and for the last three or four years have been installing, at a professional level, sound and lighting for nightclubs and disco systems,'' said Mr. Fitzsimmons.
Mr. Fitzsimmons' partners in the new business are his brother James and accountant Mr. Gary Sheppard, who is also a part owner in the operating side of the Robin Hood.
The Fitzsimmons brothers also partly own BermudaSound recording studio and Great Sound Rentals, which has provided audio systems for artists such as Luther Vandross and local reggae and soca concerts.
Great Sound Rentals has moved its offices from BermudaSound, in Happy Valley Road, Pembroke, to the new site in Church Street.
Mr. Barry Fitzsimmons spent 18 years as a professional musician, playing as a bassist for The Sharx.
