And those who hold either a Bermuda or US$ account, are able to purchase or withdraw US$ currency and US$ drafts from their available funds, a statement from the company said.

A fee of $3 would be charged for US$ drafts and cash purchases were limited to $1,000 per day, it said.

Gibbons Deposit Company senior vice president Sarah Farrington said offering services in US dollars was an example of the company's continuing effort to provide customers with services they wanted.

"Our customers now have the convenience of being able to get US$ cash for travel, to pay foreign bills or tuition, or just being able to send money abroad,'' she said.

"Customers can now hold US$ savings and time deposits with us as well.

"In keeping with our theme of being a low cost, added value provider we have priced all our US$ services very competitively.''
