The Bermuda Electric Light Company issued the warning to motorists yesterday.

Belco communications manager Robin McPhee said the stretch of road would be closed from 9.15 a.m. for about 24 hours because of an underground fault.

Crews from the utility company will trench the road at the site of the fault in order to repair the high voltage transmission cable which feeds the power supply for King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and the surrounding area of Berry Hill Road, Point Finger Road and Rural Hill.

The power supply to these areas is not expected to be interrupted while the work is being completed.
