Belco executive vice president Vincent Ingham said last night the distribution problem at the Flatts substation occurred at about 7.15 p.m. when the sub-station switches tripped.

Houses in Smith's Parish were left without power and in the dark but it was hoped the Belco workers would quickly identify and iron out the problem, he said.
