Cycles Ltd., HWP confirmed yesterday.

HWP acquired Honda Livery -- the cycle rental business with locations on Front Street as well as at Stonington Beach Hotel -- as a result of its earlier acquisition of C.E. Young Ltd. the Bermuda agents for Honda, said HWP deputy managing director Mr. Don MacKenzie.

The livery sale was effective December 1. The purchase price has not been revealed.

But cycle rentals "are not part of HWP's strategic plan'' while Astwood Cycles is a major player in the cycle rental business, said Mr. MacKenzie.

Honda cycles will be sold through HWP company Chiswick Ltd., located on Reid Street across from The Sleep Shop etc.

Astwood Cycles has operations at several local hotels and on Front Street, said Astwood Cycles president and CEO Mr. Glen Cuoca.
