International Bar Association committee chairman appointed
Peter Rodger, legal advisor for the Bank of Butterfield Group, has been picked as chairman of the International Bar Association committee dealing with investment companies and mutual funds.
The appointment marks the first time a chair has been selected from an offshore jurisdiction. Mr. Rodger is the committee's former senior vice chairman and a member of the executive since 1991. He will lead an executive of five lawyers from Boston, New York, London and Frankfurt.
The IBA's mutual funds committee organises programmes at annual conferences on the industry. The association also founded and co-sponsors the Globalisation of Mutual Funds seminar in Bermuda every May. The seminar attracts about 475 delegates.
"These activities and the networking that develops from them provide us with discussion and feedback from the major fund complexes and fund regulators in the various fund jurisdictions,'' Mr. Rodger stated. "We are now an integral part of that process.'' NEW POSITION -- Peter Rodger BUSINESS BUC
