attention turns to the next major insurance conference, to be held in Bermuda.

From May 15 to 19, IBC USA Conferences will host ICAP 2000, The International Captives Congress, at the Fairmont Southampton Princess Hotel.

ICAP 2000 will be a three-and-a-half day event, drawing risk management executives from all over the world who are involved in the development and ongoing management of captives.

ICAP's multi-level programming will deliver comprehensive information to those individuals relatively new to the captive arena through its main sessions, in addition to providing a more sophisticated level of content through the Masters Summit Series.

The conference will be opened by Premier Jennifer Smith, and will feature a panel discussion on domicile jurisdictions, with representation from captive domiciles in the United States, the Caribbean as well as several European representatives.

Other ICAP highlights will include: Breakout sessions addressing issues such as single parent captives, rent-a-captives and cell companies, and group and association captives; Tutorials on healthcare and tax-exempt entities, and capitalising on agency captives -- the ins and outs you need to know; Twenty risk manager speakers, more than ever before, and 52 of the industry's leading speakers will share their knowledge and expertise; Networking activities will be facilitated through numerous opportunities for delegates to network with each other, including an opening night reception, refreshment breaks, luncheons, a beach party and cocktail receptions; An ICAP awareness pavilion will offer an opportunity for delegates to view some of the latest products and services in the market; A Risk Cafe will offer a centre for risk managers to congregate; and An ICAP brainstorming breakfast will allow delegates to "share challenges and ideas over breakfast with speakers and fellow peers''.
