J&H buys Guernsey captive manager

operations are based in Bermuda, has acquired Transglobe (Guernsey), one of the largest captive management companies in Guernsey.

The acquisition will effectively give J&H its first captive management foothold in Guernsey.

Transglobe (Guernsey) provides captive management services and run-off services for captives.

Lloyd's List reported that J&H has appointed Mr. David Johnstone as managing director of the acquisition, which has 20 employees and manages the captives of a number of leading UK companies.

The new business has enhanced J&H's position as the world's largest captive management company, with 16 operations around the world. It manages more than 400 captives with assets totalling more than $7 billion.

Johnson and Higgins (Bermuda) handles all of J&H's Bermuda-based and global captive management interests, as well as operating an insurance brokerage.
