Meyer Agencies Ltd. said the ship, which has been calling here for the past three years, brought 1,228 passengers to the Island on Monday evening.

It was delayed by inclement weather and therefore had to bypass its berth in St. George's and go directly to Hamilton.

The ship left Bermuda on Tuesday evening for San Juan, Puerto Rico where she will be based.

Meyer said the cruise ship Horizon also arrived in Bermuda, from New York, late on Monday as a result of the weather.

The ship brought 1,339 passengers and was scheduled to leave the Island this afternoon.

The cruise ship Meridian arrived on Monday afternoon with 817 passengers from Newport News, Virginia. It was scheduled to leave Dockyard to return there this afternoon.

Both the Royal Majesty and the Song of America arrived in Bermuda on schedule this week, with 690 and 1,382 passengers, respectively, local agents John S.

Darrell reported.

The agency said it was also expecting the United States Coast Guard cutter the Bainbridge Ireland to arrive at Penno's Wharf, St. George's today.

The 135-foot vessel is expected to leave Bermuda tomorrow.

Also scheduled to arrive in Bermuda, from Freeport, Bahamas, tomorrow is the oil tanker Emfgas .

It will stop at the Esso oil terminal at Ferry Reach in St. George's where it will discharge some 8,000 barrels of liquid propane before leaving for Haiti.

John S. Darrell also reported that the Norwegian tanker Igloo Finn stopped off Bermuda earlier this week for a crew change.

And the car ship Bijin arrived on Monday from Port-au-Prince, Haiti with 120 cars and 76 assorted packages and cases of parts.

It left Bermuda for Nassau, Bahamas on Monday afternoon.

In other shipping news, the container ship Somers Isles arrived last Sunday, from Fernandina Beach, Florida, with 81 containers, including 10 refrigerated containers. It also brought three boats, a steel tank, and 48 bundles of lumber.

The ship left Bermuda last Sunday, a Meyer spokesman said.

The Bermuda Islander arrived last Tuesday morning with 75 containers, including nine refrigerated ones. It also brought in two horses.

It returned to Salem, New Jersey on Tuesday afternoon.

Container Ship Management reported that the Oleander arrived on schedule last Sunday from Port Elizabeth, New Jersey with 101 dry containers and 39 refrigerated containers.

CAR-ING CARGO -- The car ship Bijin was stationed along Front Street earlier this week as 120 cars and 76 packages and cases of parts were unloaded.
