Bank of Butterfield held at $10.375 on volume of 15,668.

Movement in insurance stocks included BF&M 9% Conv. Cum. Red. Pref. closing down 25 cents to $9 on volume of 1,500 and Argus held at $10.50 on volume of 568.

BAS traded on volume of 1,750 and closed at $2.75, up 25 cents, while Bermuda Container Line closed up 25 cents at $3.25.

Belco closed up 12.5 cents to $20 on volume of 980 shares.

The Index rose 11.97 points to close at 999.05 on volume of 23,709 shares worth $255,242.13.
