Long Botham announces profit
year ended June 30.
Shareholders were advised of the improved performance of the company at a general meeting on November 10.
The company that owns the popular Henry VIII Restaurant and Pub in Southampton is publicly listed on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.
In a letter from president Mr. Andy Allan, shareholders were informed that as a result of the dividend, the company will now continue with a dividend of $0.80 per share per annum. The company last year paid out $0.60 a share and has paid out $0.60 per share so far this year.
The president's statement pointed out that the dividends occur as a result of the upswing in revenue. And Mr. Allan said that he and the board of directors received a vote of confidence from the shareholders.
It stated: "The sales for the year increased by $374,258 from $4,219,534 to $4,593,693, which in part was due to new revenue from Horseshoe Bay Beach Club.'' Mr. Allan was referring to the decision earlier this year by Government to switch concessionaires at Horseshoe Bay.
Businessman Mr. Raymond White, had held the popular concession for some time, serving refreshments to thousands of visitors to the beach.
Mr. Allan also stated in his letter: "The general outlook for the coming year should see a steady flow of business, hopefully comparable to last year. We have completed our renovations during the last financial year, and anticipate a relatively maintenance free year.'' Long Botham Boast Co. Ltd. last traded at $7.75 on October 31, the highest price for the year.
