Madeiros promoted to no. 2 at Belco
Operating Officer of Bermuda Electric Light Company Ltd., one of Bermuda's biggest companies.
In his new roles, Mr. Madeiros will broaden his responsibilities to include the engineering and operations side of BELCO.
This will lead to him taking over as President and Chief Executive Officer of the company when the incumbent Mr. Alf Oughton retires on December 31, 1993.
Mr. Madeiros, who has been with BELCO for a total of eight and a half years, rejoined the company on December 1, 1985, as Assistant General Manager and was later appointed Treasurer.
In 1989, he was promoted to Deputy General Manager and last year he became Senior Vice President, Finance and Administration.
In another promotion, Mr. A. L. Vincent Ingham has been elevated to the position of Vice President, Engineering and Operations.
Mr. Ingham will broaden further his responsibilities in directing all engineering and operations areas to enable him to assume the position of Senior Vice President, Engineering and Operations, on the retirement of Mr. C.
Eugene Cox, also on December 31, 1993.
Mr. Ingham has been with BELCO for 14 years, rejoining the company on July 1, 1986 as Senior Mechanical Engineer.
On January 1, 1991, he was promoted to Manager, Engineering and Planning and also became Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President, Engineering and Operations.
The promotions of both Mr. Madeiros and Mr. Ingham became effective from January 1, 1993.
