Bluck's vice president Mr. Peter Darling revealed the change after denying speculation that the branch was being closed.

The rumour may have started after it was decided the St.George's store manager, Mrs. Dorothy Hayward, will be leaving her managerial position soon, he added.

Mrs. Hayward, mother of St. George's Mayor the Rt. Wor. Henry Hayward, was appointed manager in 1967.

Mr. Darling admitted that business has been slow at the Water Street store.

"Business is not great in St. George's. To be quite honest, it just about breaks even,'' he commented.
