No Bermudian successor for BTC's Lyle
Telephone Company nears its end, Canadian Lorraine Lyle has no plans to leave.
BTC said it has placed advertisements for a president and CEO because "there is no one within the company at this time to assume the position''.
Ms Lyle's three-year work permit expires in February 2000. Despite the fact that she replaced a Bermudian, the company has admitted that to date it has not targeted or groomed anyone to succeed her.
"We are working on developing a number of Bermudians within the company for future succession,'' a BTC spokesperson said yesterday. "At this time there is no particular understudy.'' In its ad for the post, which has appeared in recent days, BTC said it is "seeking a dynamic, highly motivated senior executive to provide strategic and operational leadership''.
Five year's executive level experience in telecoms, senior management experience in LEC and a post graduate degree in engineering, business administration or marketing were also stipulated.
