the costs of buying and importing a new oil spill recovery boat. The news corrects a statement in last week's shipping page which reported that Esso Bermuda alone would be bringing in the vessel.
Although Esso will import the boat, the two companies had already agreed to split the costs. The 26-foot boat will be used to stand by oilers during deliveries.
She will also be made available for the "common good of all Bermuda'' in the event of an oil spill and "not solely for incidents related only to Esso and Shell local operations'', Esso said.
