PHC, neigbour squabble over Stadium Lane access
been trying to bar access to her home.
Shirley Hassell has been living in Pearman's Hill West for nearly 40 years but said officials regularly stop her entering via Stadium Lane.
And she said that PHC President Chris Furbert had recently tried to stop her and her daughter entering that way -- although she has sent Mr. Furbert a copy of the deeds.
She said: "The other night we were trying to get home and he came out and said `Where do you stay?' But I said I have been living here for 38 or 39 years. He knows me.
"It's our right of way but the club feels Stadium Way belongs to them.'' Ms Hassell said there was another access route via the north but it was very narrow and windy and would not be able to let an ambulance through in an emergency.
PHC President Chris Furbert said no one had tried to stop Ms Hassell going home, but he said that the confrontation had arisen as the club tried to get traffic out after the bingo.
He said: "She was hasty that night, but I didn't tell her to go the other way. I don't get complaints from anyone else. That's the first time I have had that discussion.'' And Mr. Furbert said he had been sworn at by somebody in Ms Hassell's car.
Mr. Furbert said Stadium Lane belonged to PHC, but the club had lost its right to bar access for other road users.
