adjourned -- because of a suspected imminent general election.

But delegates will meet at 9 p.m. tomorrow to discuss the party's draft election platform.

The conference had been scheduled to take place throughout this week at Alaska Hall. Delegates turned up last night to hear an address from party leader Mr.

Frederick Wade, telling them to brace for an election.

A resolution was unanimously approved to adjourn the conference to a date to be fixed by the party's central committee.

Afterwards Opposition Senator Ira Philip said Friday night's reception and Saturday's banquet would still go ahead.

Sen. Philip said tomorrow night's meeting at Alaska Hall would involve a general dicussion with election candidates and other party officials on the PLP's draft manifesto.
