Rego forges partnership with estate agents Knight Frank

European buyers of luxury homes looking for their very own place in the sun will have the chance to look at Bermudian real estate along with other premium island locations around the Caribbean.

Bermudian real estate agents Rego have officially announced they are teaming up with international estate agents Knight Frank.

The partnership will mean that the top end of the housing market in Bermuda will now be advertised along with other premium properties in the Caribbean as part of Knight Frank.

The move is hoped to bring in European buyers, who have recently been buying up properties for `winter sun' holiday destinations.

Over 50 percent of the purchasers from the `island' markets originate from Europe, especially Northern European nations such as the United Kingdom and Germany.

The Caribbean has been a destination for the jet-set looking for a place in the sun, and now Bermuda will be joining the `in' pages of glossy Knight Frank brochures.

"This is an exciting expansion for Knight Frank in a high value and very attractive part of the world,'' said Paddy Dring, the Knight Frank partner in charge of the international department.

"We feel like the current position of the local economy and property cycle is ideal, and we are pleased to have assembled an outstanding network.

"All our affiliate firms have excellent track records and high market profiles in their areas. We will ensure that we are able to provide our clients with a comprehensive service enabling them to assess all alternatives, whatever may be their motive in driving the investment.'' Bermuda will join Palm Beach, Bahamas (Nassau), the Cayman Islands, Mustique and Barbados and properties will be advertised around the world in glossy magazines.

According to Rego president Buddy Rego, he is extremely excited about the affiliation. "It offers the sellers of Bermuda real estate a truly international market place''.

Rego also believes that the tax advantages posed by living in countries such as Bermuda will make the Island even more attractive to Europeans.

Properties listed for Knight Frank will be visited by a Knight Frank representative, so that they can have first hand knowledge of the properties they are selling.
