Dublin, Ireland to get better access to the European market.

Rennaissance Reinsurance of Europe will provide property catastrophe reinsurance to the market. The company joins other Bermuda-based companies that have set up shop in Ireland, including ACE Ltd., Exel Ltd. Centre Solutions, and Starr Excess.

RenaissanceRe has hired Ian Branagan as divisional director of the new subsidiary. The office will be staffed by two people initially. Renaissance mainly provides property catastrophe reinsurance.
