Second-hand clothing store is up for sale
store, plan to sell the business, a co-owner said.
Super Seconds, located on Joell's Alley in Hamilton, is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to manage and own their own small business, said Mrs. Mair Harris.
The business, specialising in women's and children's clothing, opened 17 years ago on Church Street opposite the Bank of Bermuda then moved to a Reid Street location before settling in Joell's Alley in 1982.
The business is co-owned by Mrs. Harris, Mrs. Vanessa Roberts and Mrs. Sally Zelkin.
"There is a large turn-over in second-hand clothing,'' said Mrs. Harris. The business offers residents the chance to sell clothing and receive half the selling price or buy at reduced cost.
Mrs. Harris estimated gross annual sales at about $60,000 and the business has about 2,000 contributors.
"There is potential for greater sales if a new owner wanted to expand into other areas like toys and household items,'' she said.
The owners hope to sell the business by the end of the month.
