May 26 seminar.

It will spell out what paperwork Government requires, and focus on contract conditions.

The Works and Engineering Ministry's assistant buildings' manager Mr. James Tucker explained the reason for the seminar.

"Government has been putting more maintenance and painting work out to open tender.

"It has been brought to our attention small contractors do not fully comprehend the full set of contract documentation required.'' The seminar -- to be advertised this week in The Royal Gazette -- will be held in the Global House personnel training room. It will start at 1 p.m.

"We are requesting contractors call in and reserve places,'' said Mr. Tucker, who will conduct the seminar. He added further seminars could be held, if sufficient interest was shown.

Works Minister the Hon. Leonard Gibbons said: "I am very encouraged and delighted of course that the Ministry is going to be running a seminar for small contractors so they understand how Government contracts are let, and how the bidding process works, and what responsibilities there are under Government contracts.''
