Sports Centre offers water fun, adventure

tourists a myriad of water sport adventures. Located on the water, the sports centre complex, which houses Blue Water Divers, Bermuda Hospitality Services and the Bermuda Water Ski Centre, was completed last month. The water skiing business and Blue Water Divers as well as Robinson's boat rentals, which is now a part of Bermuda Hospitality Services, have been operating out of Robinson's Marina for many years, said part-owner of the Sports Centre, Mrs.

Frances Robinson. But they now have their own complex from which to conduct business. And Bermuda Hospitality Services has added to Robinson's sporting attractions. Blue Water Divers is Bermuda's oldest full-service dive centre.

Apart from regular dive trips, the company can conduct all levels of certification up to divemaster and as well as being a PADI dive centre, they are affiliated with SSI and NAUI. Specialty courses are also conducted as well as CPR and First Aid. The dive centre now has a large reception area, an office and training room as well as a work shop and storage room. Outside, a space has been created for storage of tanks and wet suits. Bermuda Hospitality Services is a new business which relates to both marine and land based activities. The services concentrate on promoting and booking tours of the island, water sports, restaurant reservations and other events, according to manager Ms Corrine Simons. "We will patronise all vendors and the services they provide, enabling our visitors the opportunity to fully enjoy Bermuda and all it has to offer,'' she said. The Bermuda Water Ski Centre, which is located across from Blue Water Divers in the sports complex, caters to both the novice and the pro. Open seven days a week, the centre offers competitive rates and tremendous water skiing opportunities. General manager of the Shell station Mr. Malcolm Swan said: "Robinson's Marina is not only a gas station, but a place where people can partake in water sports through the centre. "The marina provides customers with all of their boating needs and it offers clients an array of activities,'' he said.
