announced that Wayne A. Daniel has been appointed to lead Tempest Re's expansion into the European and Asian reinsurance markets.

Mr. Daniel will initially be responsible for developing a detailed business plan, recruiting a core team of reinsurance professionals and determining the optimal structure and focus of the London-based operation.

Mr. Daniel is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and has previously held senior executive positions at M&G Re, Liberty Re and most recently at ERC Frankona in London as head of Life & Health Financial Reinsurance.

Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ACE Limited, Brian Duperreault, said: "The ACE Group is committed to expanding its reinsurance operations and Wayne Daniel's wide experience in Life and Health reinsurance as well as Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) will be key to realising Tempest Re's diversification plans.'' John Engestrom, Chief Executive Officer of Tempest Re, added the appointment Mr. Daniel followed that of Jacques Bonneau for the US in December last year.
