USAir to offer new flight
this spring.
It will provide another boost to Bermuda's crucial tourism links with North America.
And Government is also hoping for a new German winter charter flight out of Europe.
The new Boston schedule starts on May 1.
The 151-seat Boeing 727 aircraft will leave Boston at 9.05 a.m., arriving in Bermuda at 12.15 p.m.
The flight will depart Bermuda at 1.15 p.m, returning to Boston at 2.28 p.m.
USAir currently provides a nonstop service to Bermuda from LaGuardia and Philadelphia.
The new moves were announced yesterday in the House of Assembly by Tourism Minister the Hon. C.V. (Jim) Woolridge.
He also said he was hopeful Bermuda would benefit if British Airways pulls off a deal with Dan Air.
A USAir spokesman said yesterday the new service was a key plank in its strategy.
"As the number one airline in Boston, the new Bermuda flight only enhances our existing service of USAir, USAir Express and USAir shuttle daily departures.''
