Weekly Stocks Update The Bermuda Stock Exchange index gained 65.475 points last week to close at 1,180.02 on the strength of trading in Bermuda Telephone
A total 183,625 shares valued at $3,880,040.13 and bonds worth $20,073.94 traded during the week. A total of 14 issues traded, 10 advancing, one declining and three unchanged in value.
The biggest gainer of the week was Bermuda Telephone, which rose $4 to close at $30 on a volume of 1,620. The only loser was Stevedoring Services Ltd.
which fell 25 cents to close at $4.25 on a volume of 3,232.
Bank of Bermuda rose $1.50 to finish the week at $25.25 on a volume of 130,495. The bank's warrants rose 1 to close at $2 5 on a volume of 1,230.
Bank of Butterfield rose 50 cents to close at $11.75 on a volume of 21,310.
Bermuda Commercial Bank rose 50 cents to close at $5 on a volume of 2,682.
Bermuda Home rose 25 cents to close at $7.75 on a volume of 2,074.
Argus Insurance rose 50 cents to close at $13 on a volume of 8,430. BELCO Holdings rose $13 to close at $217 on a volume of 3,073. Watlington Waterworks rose 50 cents to close at $7 on a volume of 6,070. Bermuda Telephone bond issue rose 25 cents to close at $95.25.
Trading unchanged were BF&M preferred shares at $9 on a volume of 120, and Bermud Press Holdings at $8 on a volume of 3,207, and Bermuda Broadcasting Co.
at $5.50 on a volume of 82.
