Welcome aboard! Cable & Wireless is hosting a cocktail party aboard the cable ship Sir Eric Sharp to honour the 25th anniversary of the National Trust.

The unique setting was made possible by the ship's captain, Ian Bosworth, at the request of Trust silver anniversary committee member Mr. Ward Young.

The ship will be berthed at Dockyard for the party, which is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 10. Tickets are $20, which includes refreshments and a tour of the ship, which is used to lay trans-oceanic cables. The Trust's silver anniversary celebrations have included a black tie dinner, golf and tennis tournaments, tree plantings in all nine parishes, and production of a primary school heritage workbook and a secondary school art show. The final event will be a concert at the Keepyard of the Maritime Museum on June 24 featuring Bermudian opera singer Ms Marcelle Clamens. Parties for that concert and the party aboard the Sir Eric Sharp are available from Trust headquarters at Waterville.
