Women's health seminar planned

Sponsored by the Ministry of Legislative Affairs and Women's Issues and the Women's Advisory Council, the Women's Health Seminar will have a selection of local women tackling a variety of issues. They include: Community Health Nurse Gaylia Landry on AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases; Internal practitioner Dr. Marion Watlington on menopause, Osteoporosis, and PMS; Anita Acker of The Athletic Club on fitness and sports; Family practitioner Dr. Fiona Ross on heart disease; and Performance Consultants International's Elizabeth Hayes on stress.
Registration for the seminar -- to be held on October 30 from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. at the Number One Shed on Front Street -- will be $10. This fee will be donated to one of the following charities, the Women's Resource Centre; the Physical Abuse Centre; Fair Havens Christian Care Association; or Just Between Us.
