As of April 1, there will be a $5 daily charge.

This can be paid with cash or credit cards.

According to an Airport Operations spokeswoman, those wishing to use a credit card need only insert their IslandCard, Mastercard, Visa, Easy Link, or BankCardPlus-Master Debit Card into the machine.

They must press the red or black incremental buttons until the date of their return is displayed. Then they should push the accept button. They will then receive a receipt that should be displayed on their car windscreen.

The spokeswoman advised travellers to "overestimate'' their journey due to the fact that unforeseen circumstances could occur, such as flight cancellation or even delays.

"If you return before the date displayed on your receipt, reinsert your credit card,'' she said. "This will simply close the transaction and you will receive a receipt. You will only be charged for the days that you used.'' If the car park is full, the overflow long term parking lot will be opened.
